High & Low-Level Cladding Cleaning
The Brief
One Rutherglen Links presented a cladding cleaning challenge across multiple levels. Water run-off patterns had created pronounced watershed staining on both low and high-level elevations across the front and side of the building, with organic growth and traffic film adding to the contamination over time.
StoneClean was instructed to restore the cladding across all affected areas, delivering a clean, consistent finish from ground level to height.
Our Approach
We selected the DOFF Integra Steam Cleaning System for this project chosen for its ability to clean thoroughly while remaining fully sensitive to the cladding substrate. Superheated water at high temperature and low pressure effectively lifts contamination without the risks that come with aggressive jet washing, such as coating damage, surface erosion, or moisture penetration.
The cleaning programme tackled:
•Watershed staining
•Organic growth and biological matter
•Traffic film deposits
•Atmospheric contamination
Extra attention was given to the high-level sections where staining was most concentrated, ensuring a consistent result across the full elevation.
Access & Safety
Both low and high-level sections were accessed using a cherry picker (MEWP), providing safe and controlled working conditions throughout. All works were completed under site-specific risk assessments and in full compliance with health and safety requirements.
Result
A consistent, professional finish was reinstated across all treated elevations. The use of heritage-approved steam technology delivered a compliant, effective, and long-term solution for the building’s façade maintenance.
