Commercial Cladding Clean for Enhanced Visibility
The Brief
The external cladding at DHL’s Bellshill facility had accumulated a significant build-up of watershed staining, traffic film, and organic growth particularly on the side elevations visible from surrounding roadways and had been contaminated by a significant amount of soot left from a large scale fire at an adjacent warehouse. The deteriorating appearance was affecting the professional image of the facility.
StoneClean was commissioned to carry out a full external cladding clean, restoring the building’s presentation and bringing it back in line with corporate standards.
Our Approach
We implemented a targeted cleaning programme using controlled, low-pressure, high-temperature techniques, matched carefully to the cladding substrate to ensure effective removal without any risk to the existing coating or surface finish.
The programme addressed:
•Watershed staining
•Algae and biological contamination
•Traffic film deposits
•Atmospheric soiling
The methodology was chosen specifically to restore the cladding without shortening its lifespan, an important consideration on a working commercial facility.
Access & Safety
The height and scale of the elevations required a cherry picker (MEWP) for safe and efficient access. Comprehensive RAMS were prepared prior to attending site, and all works were completed in full accordance with health and safety legislation.
Result
The external elevations were returned to a uniform, well-maintained finish significantly improving the facility’s visual presence from the road and reinforcing DHL’s professional brand standards.
